I've read somewhere that the 4-Tec will last 1000 hours if well maintained. And your turbo most be rebuild every 100 hours.

255hp and has 162 hours

Too many variables to answer the question. What year is it? Did you buy it new and put all those hours on it yourself? If so, did you perform the recommended service at the proper intervals? Did you buy it used? Were there any service records? Has the supercharger been rebuilt? I certainly hope so, as the rebuild interval is 100 hours. How do you drive it? Do you flog the crap out of it or is it a cruiser? Answer these questions and someone here will probably have a good answer.

sorry for not being very detailed. Um, this boat is heavily abused. Its an 09. When i first got it i almost drove it WOT everywhere i went. If i cruised it would probably have 300 hrs. My boat just went to the shop because whenever i unhooked from the water going WOT it would sort of over-rev except it was a whirring noise and there was a total loss of power. the forum led me to believe it was the super charger slipping. My dad took it in for the 100hr maintenance and i guess they never rebuilt the SC, so it lasted me to 162 hours. The shop said you can EASILY tell its been used in salt water. Its not very well taken care of.

OH MY..... I'm not really sure how to answer your question now. Ummmm, till it blows up? Sounds like you're at a crossroads to me, drive it till it blows and fix it as you go along, or bow out now. With salt water usage, and no real records, my first instinct is to bail. If you got a REALLY great deal, it might be worth keeping, but its a crap shoot now. Go with your gut feeling.
