I was talkign with a dealer getting some prices and the dealer said they wont install the depth finder on an 08 speedster 150 because of the time involved... Anyone have any knowledge on how hard this is to get into.. I mean if a Sea-Doo dealer wont install it who will..

That seems ridiculous, maybe there is another sea doo dealer in your area that will do it. I was hoping to have mine installed at the 100hr service so i am interested to hear about your experience.

Just installed a fish finder

I posted a question about where to put the transducer but got no answers. I wanted to shoot through the hull, in the instuctions for the fish finder it said to caulk a piece of PVC pipe big enough to hold the transducer, fill it with water and see if the fish finder can see the water, it could not so through the hull was not an option. Next, not wanting to make any holes in the hull I pulled one of the screws out of the speedometer sensor, got a longer one and attached there. It came out and I almost sunk. Finally I got some marine goo (like shoe goo) and glued it on. Haven't tested yet but it looks like its on good. I tied into the radio power for 12v.

Got a depth finder today

i know this is an old thread but I finally got my depth finder today. The dealer installed it no problem, they said it is fairly easy. In fact they had it delivered to their shop this morning and called me at 11:45am and said its ready. Cost for parts was $339 and they charged something like $32.50 labor. So im not sure why a dealer would refuse to do that, maybe you could just try a different one.

One more thing... this depth finder DOES NOT work at speed. Once you get on plane it loses signal. It is all to spec according to the dealer so he called seadoo to confirm and they said yes that is correct even in the newer boats that have them installed at the factory. If I had known that I would have saved my money.

I don't think the dealer really called Seadoo.

If I were you, I would be making a call to that dealer.

Mine works at speed. Where did they mount the transducer?

On the passenger side kind of near the battery. I will take a picture tomorrow.

Where is yours located?

Now that i know the dealer won't be any help, i will try moving it around myself.
