I have a 2002 SeaDoo XP (951) and am wondering what my top speed should be. A buddy of mine that owned a 2001 (when it was new) said that stock he was running 70 GPS'd. I am running about 60.
Then I am running just about right then. I am thinking of replacing the wear ring, plugs, wires, fuel lines, and doing a more performance air intake. Would I have to do anything with the carbs if I change the air intake?
I'm not really sure. From talking to extremely respected members here, these xp's are so well built for power that anything you do to "mod" the ski will make little difference and could have adverse effects on the engine. The wear ring will make a huge difference if the one you have is worn out. Also the gray fuel lines are crap, I would def. replace those. Search around a little on here about the air intake. I think I saw something recently about somebody doing this.
Well I did some research and found a stage 1 kit on www.rossiereng.com for $435. Is spending the money worth it or will I not get the performance I am seeking out of it?
You'll prob. get one or two mph out of it. Looks like on their test they did 62-65, which is not that much more and yours now, gotta run the high octane gas too which is way more expensive. I think if you really want to go faster, then sell yours and but a brand new RXP. Mine is fast enough for me! :coolgleam:
