I kno theres alot of debate about this... but none of the previous threads really answered my question...

What is the difference on how they run? I kno about the weight differences, how 2 strokes are more powerful, and how 4 strokes are heavier...
But whats the difference on how they actualy work? Both a 2 stroke and 4 stroke you add oil and gas in a diff. tank(if the 2 is fuel injected) so really whats the difference?

There is more differences than this, but these are the major ones.

2 stroke - Combustion every cycle (up-stroke + down stroke = 2 strokes). Oil mixed with gas enters from crank case and lubes the cylinder before combustion on top of the pistons.

4 - stroke - Combustion cycle (up-stroke + down stroke) and then a compression cycle (up-stroke + down stroke) = 4 strokes. Oil in crank case, Gas is sucked in from carbs on top of cylinder before combustion on top of the pistons.

the other difference is this...in 2 stroke...you only add oil..

in 4 stroke..you need oil changes which the sea doo dealer rapes big $$$ for.. Sorry..im just venting..

$250+tax for 10 hour service on a 2009 RXT-X is a big too much ....=(
