hot shaft!!!

just ran doo on hose for a few min. reached down to check everything and felt the shaft to be hot just had shaft rebuilt 3yrs ago but havent had it in the water since then is it suppose to be hot out of the water???

It needs to be greased at the grease fitting. You shouldn't run it longer then 5 minutes on the hose as it isn't being cooled out of the water.

Karl is right about the grease. I have allso read from a expert that the drive shaft will burn your hand after a short hard run and that it is normal. Hope this helps. Robin :cheers:
