Hose form rear vent

There is a clear hose coming off of the vent in the rear of my 1997 GTI. Can anyone tell me if this hooks in to something?

Snap a pic so we know what hose your talking about ... of be a bit more descriptive please ...

The vent in the rear is located directly under the seat latch. there are a couple of hoses zip tied on a block and one single smaller hose that plugs in to the vent itself and that is the one I was wondering about. I would snap a photo but I do not have my camera on me. Thanks!

Well on my 97 gts and 92 xp .. there are the two hoses dead center under the latch and one toward the port side of "vent" your speaking of ... that hose was the battery vent .. it should run up to your battery, look on the side of your battery for a place that the hose will snap into
