The folks at seadoo seem to like using cable ties as hose clamps.

I don't particularly trust them, as I can pull most of my hoses of their post, when they are "secured" with the cable ties. Is there any reason I could not replace them with standards screw type clamps?

Thanks

I like to use t-bolt clamps on my car whenever I have to. your home depot type clamps can damage rubber and kill silicon hoses. aba clamps work too, they have beveled edges so they dont cut in. Im not sure why they use cable ties, I know you can use cable ties on small vacum hoses on cars but anything else is no-no

You know its funny this question would come up, I was thinking about the same thing a few nights ago while working on mine. The only think I came up with is cost to BRP, 2 cents for a zip tie as opposed to a 8 cent hose clamp = a big bonus for the bean counter that came up with the idea  I myself do away with the zip ties and replace them with hose clamps when I come across them. If the cable tie is doing its job I don't bother it until I see a leak.

thanks

I wasn't sure if the stock hoses were up to the extra force on them???? sounds plausable, right? :)

Anyhow I'm trying to find a water mystery leak, so all my water lines get them.
