HOOD LATCH RELEASE CABLE, 98 sportster

I have a 98 seadoo sprotster and it has sat up for the last few years.
I decided to sell it and listed it with a few pictures.
I have and intrested buyer and he ask for pictures of the engines. I went to open the hood and the cable for the hood latch release broke and I cant get the hood open.
Any idea how to get it open with a broken cable..I cant find where the latch is to open it.

Any help would be great.

I have looked online and cant find any pictures of the area that the latch is.

Did the cable actually snap, leaving you with the handle in your hand not connected? Once, i pulled mine and the whole cable broke free from the housing and pulled up out of the boat. It was all still attached though and able to be fixed easy.

Can you take a look at your hood latch and tell me if the metal end of the cable where the hook comes out actually sits inside the hole on the hood latch or does it sit just outside of it?

Are you talking about the end inside the rear compartment? I actually brought the boat to work with me to clean it up today. I can take a pic for you, but need to know exactly what you need.
