Just wanted to share some pics of my homemade leak tester. After doing some researching I decided to takle this proj and machine out some block off plates I also bought a sheet of .125 rubber gasket material from Ebay.uploadfromtaptalk1394072065895.jpguploadfromtaptalk1394072083425.jpg I ended up using the jet pump leak tester I put together with some t fittings linked to the intake plates that I drilled and taped for 1/4 in npt barbes fairly decent setup for a first timer ,I think! anyway pumped up the shraider valve with a hand pump and it held around 8 to 10 psi for around an hour then dropped and held around 6 I sprayed soapy solution on everything and I couldn't find any leaks. I will check it in a few hours to see were it's at. I also tested the rv cav and it held 10 psi indefinetly. The pic shows 0 psi on the gauge but that was before I started the test.uploadfromtaptalk1394072135245.jpgKeeping my fingers crossed this was my first rebuild so im expecting a learning curve but I hope I don't need to rip it all apart again! Sorry for the long post thanks for reading!uploadfromtaptalk1394072263502.jpguploadfromtaptalk1394072295915.jpg

Well I just checked the gauge and it leaked all the way down so I'm a little worried.it only held for a few hours not sure if it needs to hold indefinitely but I've read some threads that say it does, but I also read others that stated it only needs to hold a certain psi for a period of time not sure what think about that one. Oh well back to researching!

Nice job T&D. Manual states 3 minutes to hold 5 PSI. The longer the better. Time to wrap it up, you far surpassed the required time.

Awesome just what I wanted to hear thanks! I looked through my manual and I couldn't find any info on it so I was pretty much winging the test from threads I read.

install the spark plugs and tighten to spec.

Good job tho!!!
