i'm sure its been asked but has anyone ever tried it?........i mean do they really look all that hard? no.....i just happen to be very skilled with welding and fabrication and honestly i think i could make one for about 20 bux and have it powdercoated so it wouldn't rust. has anyone ever tried it or do you think it would be a waste of time?

i was looking at the jet dynamics intake grates and they sell for like around 170 bux and it looks very simple but very effective although i did just find out i won an intake grate on ebay for 45 bux ( gotta love that best offer thing they have) but i'm really in the mood to weld and i will deffinetly test and post pictures of my design haha i'm off to the home Depot to buy some steel hey you guys might just have witnessed the begining of the best intake grate ever lol you never know HAHAHAHA

Why not just try no grate.. It might work as good or better. I know plenty who do it not many by me because all my riding is salt water and the seaweed is kinda annoying to pull out even with a grate it gets up there..

yeah i ride where there is some crap in the watter to so i would rather have something there to help protect the impeller... but i've heard of rideing with no grate i just never tried it. i think the purpose of a aftermarket grate though is to kinda ram water into the pump
