hole in mound between engines /challenger 1800

while cleaning up engine compartment for storage last fall i found a hole in the fiberglass mound between the engines (it is directly straight in from the drain plug) what could have caused this ? it doesn't seem to do any harm, it only causes a little more water to flow through engine compartment from rest of hull during flooding.

oh, btw this hole is not manufactured, it is rough and jagged.

not really, it is only visible with a flashlight through the drain plug hole. or by feeling by hand from topside. would someone make this hole to try to speed up draining the hull?

So, this hole is in between the engines? Is it in front of the engines or rear of the engines?

the hole is to the rear of the engines and is at the same height as the drain hole
