I found a small hole in my 96 Speedster cooling system and was curious to know if I can patch it up with some water weld to last the next couple of weeks? The hole is about half the size of a pencil eraser.

Thoughts???

Many have used JB weld and have had great success.

Over the winter, mostly because I am so anal about my stuff, I'd pull the manifold, sand blast the entire thing, get it welded then paint it back up.

But like I said, that's just the way I am about my stuff.

I had the same small pin hole on a family vacation and ended up putting a rubber hose on it with a hose clamp to get me through the vacation. got it home and poked at the pin hole and it became a bigger hole. i roughed it up and put two coats of the JB weld and have not yet tested it in the water but will next weekend. Looks crude but a few people said that this works. figured i'd try it before the welding

Does the exhaust hole affect the engine performance? I've got the same problem and have already put a coat of JB Weld on. The engine isnt running well and I'm hoping patching the hole fixes it, else I have another problem.

Thanks for the advice... I loaded the area up with JB water weld last night and will let it set till next weekend and i will test it then. Will keep you posted. Thanks

Splashed her last night and so far so good. No water to be seen so JB is working for now.

The hole itself would not make the boat run poorly. If the water was leaking/spraying into the wrong place it could.

Thanks for posting results, I haven't had a chance to test my 95 Speedster port engine yet that I did the same thing on. Good news though!
