maybe somebody can give me some more assistance here. I just got done taking off for carburetors off of my 95 see you speedster with the 650 7X motors in it, I checked the pop off pressure got it to pop off at 32 1/2 for carburetors put it back together, and now it wide-open throttle it is seeming to hit the rev limiter her in occasionally backfiring through the carburetor, when I put the carburetors back together , in the manual it said to preliminary turn the low-speed mixture screws out 1-1 1/2 turns out. I believe I turned them out to one turn, should I take it back to 1 1/2 to see how it operates then? Would that make it backfire into the carburetor and hit the rev limiter

Is it running away like the rpm's keep climbing uncontrollably? Or is it like the idle is set too high?

Well on the trailer I have it set to 2700 rpm’s as per the manual, you can give it throttle but when you go to give it wide open throttle all the way that’s when it hits the Rev limiter and pops every once in a while through the carburetor

Is it possible having that low speed adjustment screw misadjusted could that make it hit the rev limiter?

Absolutely, don't rev it all the way up on the trailer. It will tell you nothing other than it runs. Do not adjust the carb settings without it in the water.

Ok then looks like I need to make a date with the lake. One other thing....when I have it running on the trailer hooked up to water, the thing seems really rough, idling up and down a tad bit. Could I spray sone wd-40 or something around the intake to see if there is a vacuum leak?

OK, I have to run up to AutoZone anyway to get some parts for the towel so I’ll pick up some brake clean up then. I’m assuming if there is going to be a leak is going to be around the intake?
