Hinges

On the access door to the "cooler" on the 150, has anyone replaced the plastic hinges with metal ones? When I was drilling out the rivets to install new hinges, I noticed that the core is fairly solid, and getting the bottom of the rivet out was impossible. I forced it to the side and installed the new rivets. I stopped after one hinge and wondered what was gonna happen if I did this again. I'll "waller" out the hole trying to get the next rivet out. So I started thinking about using metal hinges and screwing them in. I understand that everything has to be flush. Any suggestions on this?

I wonder if yours is the same as mine.... I haven't had to do this yet but have been thinking of it b/c I know I will have to.... I'm not sure if a small hinge can fit in this location, might take some hunting to find something that won't rust.

Probably easier just to buy new hinges from Seadoo, this assembly looks pretty tight to me.

And I don't recall seeing rivets, but it's been awhile since looking at the hatch cover.
