I would check the impeller shaft and bearings. Is something in the impeller area by chance... a stick or something?

checked out the impeller and under grating,,nothing there...
looked at my GTI and the angle of water for drive was very
different..my VTS does not work so I got a manual and found that
my output module is bad and motor is open, so I manually
adjusted the angle to match the GTI as close as possible, and
took it out and ran it,,no more wobble,,,must buy parts for VTS...:cheers:

What is vts?
I am having the same problem. I just replaced a piston & Rings, I also rebuilt the carb. I noticed that a washer around a bolt holding the motor to a mount was vibrating when I was testing the engine. I tightened the bolt (I think about 1-2 turns). Now it runs great, but above 24 mph it starts wobbling. Should I untignten the bolt? What is the VTS referred to above?
