I rebuilt the carb last night but didn't change anything of interest that would be causing my problems. How critical is the pop off pressure test? I know it's getting fuel. If anything too much.... I cnt even pull the choke or it will not start.... If i go out there on the water hose and NOT pull the choke it will fire up...... I will post my compression numbers this evening just so I can double check them.

The pop off is critical. I can tell you this for sure. If you installed a replacement spring it WILL be wrong. Don't know why that is. But it is every time.

I didn't replace the spring. I left that alone

That's fine... but was it running right before?? Have you owned it from new? If not, then we can't assume that it was an OEM spring to begin with.

Also... the pop-off test will tell you if you have a leak in the system.

So, as Lou said... it's important.

It hasn't run since I got the boat. So I understand what u mean by checking it. Not I haven't owned it since new. I got it last year and still haven't been able to take it too the lake lol

You have the easy boat like I do 1 carb per engine. Did you put in a new needle and seat? Also replace the accel pump? You have a little jet in the accel line that likes to clog up also you should check. Also your issues could be the old external fuel pump. The fuel pump does use a Tempo line for the pulse which can cause the green gunk to get in it and kill it.
