Wondering if anyone knows if the magneto goes on a Seadoo, if there are any checks as to what would cause the stator and fly wheel to be damaged, before fixing the problem???

Magneto...

All Rotax engines have magneto's. All engines either have a magneto or alternator.

If your seeing metal shavings in your magneto area, all over the magnets of the armature plate, I"d check the starter and flywheel teeth, to see if your starter is grinding at the time it's throwing out the bendix. The shavings will always end up on the armature plate, since it retains magnetic attraction.

Do you have the mag cover off? If so, you should be able to do a visual to determine if you've got a problem with the stator and armature. It's pretty straight forward. Just be careful. The lightning coil is timed to your spark plugs for spark at the right time. Mark them as close and best you can to make sure you put them back exactly as they came out, or you'll find yourself with a manual and induction light trying to reset it.........
