After getting a new working VTS, we found out the the boot in the back was torn, and water was getting in through it. We have purchased a new boot, and were wondering if this would fix the problem.

the only reason the vts module and/or motors fail is b/c of that rubber boot, it should be changed every 2 or 3 years. you can ruin a working vts very quickly with a leaking boot.

if your question is, will replacing the boot fix the vts? the answer is no. if you have a new vts system(motor or module) don't install without a new boot or it will be junk very quickly.
