I just bought a 99 gtx limited with 140 hrs and the dock filled the oil tank with gas . We removed the tank by flashlight and drained it . Can someone please tell me where the top hose connects that's attached to a pump and does that pump need to be primed ? I'm referring to on top of oil tank not the fill hose . I really apologize for posting here , we have one bar of service standing on the back of my truck .

Thank you anybody thank help give advice.

Please don't be negative

Sorry to hear this happened at all let alone on vacation.

I will look in the manual or a parts index and see if I can get you info.

Others know the answer already, hopefully they will step in shortly..

Which do you have?

As per the parts index, number 18 is a check valve..
I am betting it is a one way valve that allows air into the tank as the oil level drops. If I am correct, it will allow for the oil to be used and prevent splashing any oil out due to the one-way valve.

So yes, it is a vent to one degree but is there to prevent a vacuum draw on the tank and not let air/oil out of the tank while riding around...

That is correct, the 951/954 doesn't have a rotary valve, it uses reed valves, so the top oil tank connection is only a vent.

So there is no valve anywhere to plug the hose into , does it make sense the last owner removed this ?

Most things a previous owner does never seems to make sense.

So that you can ride the ski, get a longer hose and run it uphill and wire tie it, (tight enough to hold it but not so tight it clamps the hose closed). Don't put sharp bends in it and don't let it coil up, (Coiled up could be an issue as, if oil does go into the tube but does not drain back into the tank that also means air is not getting into the tank which further means your engine may not get the oil it needs). The longer hose will allow oil to splash into the hose but not leak and still allow the oil to run back into the tank. It will also allow for air to enter the tank which will let the engine get the oil it needs.

Order the part and when it comes in swap out the longer hose with the vent/check valve.

Here is the info..
Part Number 275500398 CHECK VALVE 7.99

If you want a valve, you could go to an auto parts store. They may have something that you can modify.

Rear ends have them, transmissions have them, certain brake boosters have them....
