So I am currently looking into purchasing a sea-doo watercraft for my wife and I. I am 5'7 160 and my wife is 5"3 and 140. We are looking into 2 models specifically which are the sea doo sparx 3 up with IBR and Conv package as well as the sea doo gti SE. Its hard for me to decide though, my wife would be happier with a smooth ride and some speed and i would be happier with a fast ski able to have fun on. Is the 3 up spark always going to be choppy on lakes with lots of boats and wakes to the point my wife isnt happy? or should i opt for the gti se so i can still have speed but a smoother ride? please any and all advice is accepted. thank you

You will not be Happy with a spark on what I call soup bowl chop above 8 inches. My GF didn't find it enjoyable riding on the back and you lose so much speed it makes it boderline miserable. So much so that I went from a new 15 90hp spark to a 12 520hp 230sp. I can't speak for the gti but the spark in soup bowl chop is not pleasurable.

I would always go to the river where the chop was only momentary from passing crafts or wind.

I boat and ski in Lake Houston

i also own a 2015 gti 130 and is great in chop. the gti hull is the most nimble of the 3 seaters besides the spark 3 up
