Help!!!! How did this get into that

Is it easier to take it apart? I’m still trying to figure out how it got in there. I’ll try to bang it out.

That type of grate is known to fail and damage impeller and stator. I always recommend replacing with cast aluminum grate. The "tines" are cast in place, supported on both ends.

Banging it out is a bad idea. Remove the stator and work out the broken tine. Banging on these castings does nothing good.

You should be able to clean up the stator vanes with a Dremel tool. Damage to the impeller involves removal. I have tips listed in another recent thread here.

Haha, no problem. My wife says the same thing. The trick is to tell her that you can't sell it until you fix it. Then wheb you fix it, run it until something else breaks, repeat the cycle.

Win win for everyone except your bank account.
