That type of grate is known to fail and damage impeller and stator. I always recommend replacing with cast aluminum grate. The "tines" are cast in place, supported on both ends.
Banging it out is a bad idea. Remove the stator and work out the broken tine. Banging on these castings does nothing good.
You should be able to clean up the stator vanes with a Dremel tool. Damage to the impeller involves removal. I have tips listed in another recent thread here.

Thanks for the help…. Keep dumping money on this, wife says the next purchase on this boat will be a “for sale sign”… she doesn’t understand that life enjoyment and experiences are worth more than a bank statement!!!!
Haha, no problem. My wife says the same thing. The trick is to tell her that you can't sell it until you fix it. Then wheb you fix it, run it until something else breaks, repeat the cycle.
