2007 Challenger getting high exhaust temp over 6000 rpm (p1544). Nothing found in jet pump and flushed exhaust and getting water out jet/pump so I assume no clog.

What do you think is next step?

Had the same alarm but it ended up being a baby shoe caught in the impeller.Once it was out everything was fine. Good luck!!

did you get solution? I got the same error yesterday but have not had time/daylight in order to check it out.

Yes and no.

Problem was still there after new sensor, but after running on commuter again, it went away?!?!?!?

Only thing that happened between bad and good...tech unplugged ecu cables and plugged thrum back in...so maybe problem was bad connection the whole time?

I fixed mine :)

Well with the help of Dennis here on seadooforum.com
this was the answer:

There are 3 (possibly 4) small holes made into the stainless exhaust pipe. They are in the end of the pipe that fits down inside of the muffler. Cooling water flows thru the stainless pipe and then exits into the muffler thru these small holes. If one or more of these small holes are restricted then you will get a exhaust overheat warning at high speeds. You'll have to remove the pipe from the ski and clear the holes with a small screw driver.

There was 2 pebbles in those holes on my pipe. It took about an hour to get to and troubleshoot. I guess you can try that if you are still getting P1544. I would get it at about 3000 RPM.... and it would go away if i didn't hit throttle.

Just realized i was in the "boat" section...oops :P mine is a pwc... however the fix may be the same or similar. Good luck!!!!!!
