Hey fellas Im looking at picking up a Seadoo GTI I think its an 95 or 96 from a guy I work with. He's selling it for 1000 bucks but it had some engine trouble some time ago. He took it apart and found a chunk of the cyclender sleeve came off the bottom. So he cleaned the area up and put it back together and messed up the oil press ring on the piston, and now it sets apart. I was thinking of getting the motor overahauled and maybe bored out, I think it has the 717 engine on it. Not knowing anything about PWC I wanted to see if this seemed like a good deal, Ive messed with dirtbike a good bit so its not all forgen to me. The haul, seats and all around condition is good, anyone have any insite on this....is it a good deal or what?

welcome to forum, stud...
If it dropped the bootom of cylinder sleeve, then it needs resleev'n, thus other cylinder shold be done as well, bring'n back to std. bore size. Problem with that, you'll spend around $300-400 have that done, on top of new pistons, maybe crank..etc. Roll up SBT, or seadoowarehouse.com, get new one w/warr for under $1000...

I guess Im just truing to figure out if it will be a good deal, Im single....at the moment lol so will the thing get me around the lake pritty good alone and with a lil honey holding on as well...haha

Sounds like, whatever your doin, aint get'n the honeys..so yah, get your buddy to drop price a few, then rebuild it/new motor, then maybe this will be the honey magnet......
