I just got my boat back from the shop and they did a total rebuild on my motor, I took it to the lake this morning and as soon as I started the boat the alarm sounded, at first I though this was just going to last a couple seconds but it continued as I brough the boat to plane and drove around for 3 min then back to the dock the alarm was constant. We premixed the gas 75:1 just in case.

Is the constant beeping an over heating issue or oil issue?
Is there something they could of forgot to hook up?

We are trying to head to lake powell in the morning so any info would be great!
Thanks

Well........

You had an alarm. Did you check anything?? Normally the steady sound is over temp. Did you check to see if water was coming out the pee hole?? Did you touch a cyl head and check??

If a shop did the work... take it back, and tell them to fix it. You paid for it to be right. AND... if it melts down... then they may not take care of it.

But if you must work on it... I would start by making sure that all the senders on the engine are hooked up, and the connections are clean/tight.

Oh... and add more oil. The merc spec for break-in is 50:1 in the main tank, along with the injection.
