I had another thread started about my Seadoo missing and a possible cause. Well at 0200 a.m. this morniing I think it came to me from a dead sleep and woke me up.
I can't recall puttnjg the plugs back in the back of the pwc. I mean it's usually habit after cleaning it but now I'm FREAKED OUT that possibly that's what happened and water got in the engine??!?!?!
I think I'm hosed if that's the case as it's a BRAND NEW 07 with only 10 hrs on the motor. It came with a 3 yr warranty but if that's the case, I think I'm DEAD as if I recall correctly, that's NOT covered under warranty.

Can this be repaired (IE if it threw a rod?)
If this is the case, ANY clues as to the cost to have this fixed/replaced?

IM JUST SICK RIGHT NOW!!!!

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Can you explain what this will show? You say "if" the plugs are there. It was just serviced and part of that service is replacing the spark plugs.
If I remove the plugs what will that do when cranking?
I will see if I can do it tonite when I get home if I have enuf lite. Thanks VERY much for your reply!

first, find out if plugs are there...remove spark plugs and crank motor over.

you mentioned, YOU think you left the plugs out, but wasnt sure...so, find out, then go ahead anyway, and remove the spark plugs, and crank motor over, see if it shoots water?

Ok, I see. I'm reasonably certain that when it was in for the 10 hour service, perhaps they removed the drain plugs and didnt put em back in. It's habit for me for the most part, BUT I was focused on my "new" little brother from Big Brother's Program instead of checking the pwc.... Ugh.

So, if my Seadoo was in the water running engine on/off again for a couple hrs w/o those plugs in could that cause engine damage? Can water enter the engine, or possibly foul plugs, crack the head?

It didnt seem to "knock" like any rods had been thrown, only missing when the rpm's are up (eg when flushing the system after use.)

When I ran it last night to flush it, that's when I confirmed that it was still missing.

Problem solved - I HOPE!

Took it in to the dealer. He said the wear ring and the impeller are basically toast. The wear ring is causing the smell and the blue smoke as it's getting really hot and melting. They found some small rocks and a bit of sand, none of which is good obviously. Guess that's what I get for letting friends take it out as they don't seem to take as good care of it as I do.
Shop also said they see this happen all the time. Bad design I wonder..? At $600 to have it repaired, I think I'll be looking to get a service manual and perhaps learn to do maintenance myself.

I just had them winterize it so unfortunately my first season on my Wake ends abruptly due to lack of $600. Heck, it was $200 just to have it winterized. Seems a bit like rape to me. Plus I have to get it summerized lol... Sigh, guess what they don't make in sales of the PWCs, etc they make up for in service. It was $40 parts for winterize, rest was I guess labor lol.

Anyway, so greatful for the inputs!! I'm also greatful that it wasn't anything other than this!
