:confused:Hello, and thank you in advance for any help you might have. I have purchased a 98 gti 717 for my daughters that had been sitting up. After buying and installing a rebuild kit ( I didnt adjust any screws) It fired right up. We took it out on the lake this weekend and it ran great for a minute or two at WOT. Then it would seem like it was locking up or running out of fuel. Once it stalled It wouldnt start right up, it would have to sit for a minute or so, then I would have to turn it over again and again, and finally it would start. Agter doing a compression check on cylinder is right at 100, and the other is about 120, and I know thats not the greatest, but if at all possible I would like to make it through the saeson for my kids. So basically I dont know if I have a fuel problem, or overheating problem. All your help is greatly appreciated.

when you rebuilt the carbsm did you replace the spring in the needle and seat assy? If so, put the stock one back in, and make sure the "tang" thats on opposite of the "tang" that lifts the needle, is flush with top of inner carb plate...
