I've recently had a reoccuring issue with my 2005 sportster that once I get near full throttle, the boat maintains that speed despite pulling the throttle lever all the way back to low.
I have to turn off the engine to get the boat to slow down, and when I start it back up in neutral, the engine still goes at full-blast and creates large wake, despite not moving fast (if shift to forward it starts taking off at full speed again).
Eventually after turning off the engine multiple times and restarting, the boat resumed normal operations (although I never put it at full throttle again). Why would this do this? Afraid if I take it to dealer they won't have the same problem happen to them when looking at it and not get it fixed, but it has happened to me on two separate occasions.
Thanks for any help!
