Hello there. I am new to this forum and have learned so much from reading the post already!
I do have an issue that is got me stumped. So any help would be great.
Hello fellow Seadoo’s
I am new to this forum.
I have just acquired a 1995 GTX from a neighbor that has not used the ski in the past four years.
With a quick drain of the tank that was sitting for at least 3-4 years, new plugs and fresh gas the ski fired right up.
I though that I have it a home run! The next weekend took it to the lake and ran a full tank dry. Each tank the engine ran better! Then I found this forum and found out the green goo and I swapped out all the fuel lines.
The seadoo was running great. Next thing I noticed was about 4 inches of water in the boat! A quick look while running in the water showed a stream of water shooting from the tuned pipe.
So here I go and and tear apart a 25 year old exhaust! All goes well and I get to a welder who grinds off the sand plugs and tig welds 3/16” 6061 aluminum discs. All is good. As I think...
I bring the seadoo back to the lake today and the ski fires right up!
I start to take off and after about 2min it dies. Just like pulling the safety key.
It starts back up and 30 seconds dies.
After that no ignition! Dead no fire. So has anyone else had a similar problem? Could I have moved or broken a 25 year old wire? Could the safety button be corrosion or failed? Also seems like it could be weak spark .
any help would be appreciated.
Trying to keep the 2 stroke running!
