Hello everyone! I signed up because I was restoring my 2000 Sea-Doo GTX.

I was questioning how all the different layers of the gaskets and diaphragms go back in the dual carbs. Especially on the mag side of the carbs.
I got it thanks to a video on YouTube of a carb cleaning.
I’ve had this thing for 12 years and rebuilt everything including the engine.
Done it all, I rebuilt the carbs 10 years ago but this time I got much more in depth and ended up finding fuel baffle with pinched off closed lines coming out of the top of it.
That was from when I didn’t do it properly 10 years ago when I replaced my fuel lines and did carb rebuild.
Anyway this is a complicated beast and that’s why I like working on it.
It’s a challenge and it’s a hell of a fun ski to ride no doubt about it.
Hopefully I’ll just be on here to say hello and not with some difficult problems. Here’s a few pictures, some of my before restoration and after lol...
It was pretty ugly.
I also added an awesome sound system!

Please go to the 2-stroke PWC section and in the sticky section review the Carb Rebuild Thread to make sure you did the carbs correctly. There is a lot of bad information on youtube along with the good.
 
Thanks! I did look at that very useful and helpful.
I seen that after I went through my carbs three different times after rebuilding them.
My mistake was which was a big mistake...
I had a hard time finding the OEM rebuild kit so I got one that was just an aftermarket.
Also trying to do my pop off pressure I’m pretty sure I’ve bent the little arm that the spring goes under for the needle...A little bit too high and I’m pretty sure that was flooding one of my carbs severely.
The last time I put them back on and it didn’t work right I got fed up with it and ordered some brand new carburetors which will be here tomorrow.
I’ll take my old ones apart and go through them and see what I did wrong. Keep them for spare parts or rebuild them properly and just swap them out when I need the carburetor rebuild.
I found a remanufactured engine if I need to go that route.
Today I’m doing a modification to the counter balance oil excess screw and I’m going to put a fitting there or make a fitting to go on there so that I can run a line and cap it off up high so I can unscrew the cap get to it easier and put oil in it regularly...lol...and just screw the cap back on.
These things will wear you down if you let them!
I won’t stop though I’m going to keep messing with it till I get it right or blow the engine and put a remanufactured one in...
Done it before...
Either way it’ll be good to go in the near future.
The site is awesome...99% of the people that have jet skis wouldn’t have a clue what to do with them without a site like this so thanks!
Number one carburetor mistake was getting an aftermarket rebuild kit number two mistake was not 100% sure what I was doing adjusting pop off pressure when I did that.
The funny thing is 12 years ago I rebuilt my carburetors and I used the right kind of rebuild kit I completely skipped the part about adjusting pop off pressure and it was the first carburetor I ever rebuild and everything turned out great!
