Has anybody installed the HawkEye Depth Finder Sounder Air and Water Temp? I'm looking at getting the one with the Thru Hull Transducer. Is this something I can do myself or should have professionally done? I've read over HawkEyes instruction manual on installation and it don't look that hard. If someone can confirm that I'll go head and do it myself. I looked at the HawkEye DF10D-B and it don't have the Air and Water Temp witch I think would be nice to have for just a little bit more money. I read the post by kustomkarl (witch was a awesome post by the way) and it seems like a fun job that I can say I did myself. Thanks my fellow seadoo brother and sisters

Thanks for the post but I already have read all of kustomkarl post about this depth finder. Cuz of him and everybody else i'm going with a HawkEye on eBay. The only thing that is different is the installation involves drilling a hole on the bottom of the boat vs gluing. Also its a different transducer than the one he installed. So I was just trying to find out if somebody's installed this type of thru-hull transducer and if it was easy or not. :)

If you need water temp I suggest you get a transom transducer. It would just mount on the rear by the jet pumps. You would drill a small 1/2" hole to get the transducer wire to the outside of the hull and mount it and not cut a 3" diameter hole in the bottom. The "hole in the bottom" of the boat usually leak if not done properly.
