I have a 2011 GTS 130 and put the battery charger without disconnecting from the jetski yesterday . The battery has heaps of charge but I don't even have dash lights. All fuses are good. Any suggestions ? :banghead:
Pull up the manual for your ski. They are online. Google it. Go to the schematics and trace the flow of power. Look for gaps in that flow.
Starting with fuses...it's the easiest failure too fix. Check all fuses with a volt ohm meter. Don't just visually check them...pull them out and check for continuity with a meter.
Power is supplied by positive to your ECM (through the fuse) with negative supplied by the DESS post. That is why I suggested checking that first.
The negative from the DESS post should go to the relay in the box next to your main fuse box. Pull that relay and check each pin for proper response with a meter. pin 30 is ground. 86 and 86a are power, one is normally close and the other is normally open. If you don't know how to test that try google again to learn about automotive relays.
Check the ground points from the fuse panel to the engine block. May be three wires coming out of your wire harness to the front of the engine block. Check with a volt ohm meter to see if continuity exists between the TOPS switch to the ground. I think it is pin b on the TOPS switch. Pin A should show continuity to the positive pin of the ECU...again, check your manual for which pin on the ECU.
If all those check out OK then you're getting power from the place power should be coming from. May mean the ECU may be out. Notice I say "may". Electrical gremlins can be tough.
I have downloaded a manual and will go it thoroughly. i had checked the fuses with a multimeter. The resister i have bench tested to be ok. I will go through your other diagnostic tests and will report back. Thanks so much for your help.
