Hauling all the junk to the beach...rebuilding my beach cart.

I've been using this dump cart thing to haul the EZ up, grill, kids toys, spare life jackets, Ect back and forth from the truck to the beach. We spend the day out there so it's a significant amount of stuff to haul.

The old way...since I already had this cart and I didn't want to buy an expensive wagon.

It worked, not a whole lot of room, but enough to keep me from being completely overloaded. I didn't want to spend a whole lot of money, and I got to thinking about stuff I had in the garage. Had an aluminum hitch basket that doesn't get used since I have a truck and a trailer. So, it's been sitting in the garage for 10 years.

Combine the two and now we have this.

The bar on the back will be a T to hold life vests and keep them off the ground. Should get us through a few more summers.

Next project is going to be powering drive wheels. Might as well make it self propelled while I'm playing in the garage :)

And now we have a jacket holder to keep them off the ground and give them a chance to dry out.

PVC, slip fit so it's removable.

Took it all back apart for a classic fire engine red paint job. Thinking I might get some spray bed liner for the inside. Too many options.

This is what happens when I sell all my project cars and have nothing else to do. Told the wife I was going to lift it and put bigger tires on it. She wasn't amused :)

So far, I'm up to spending $8 on the PVC. Had some EMT but decided PVC was a better choice to hang wet jackets on.

i would weld the hitch carrier piece back on , just in case you like just go to the beach -- (no skis or trailer) then, you can fabricate a bbq grill to hook up to that !!! then, i will definitely  need to borrow that ...

The hitch beam will bolt right back up to the bottom. I pulled it off and then realized after I transferred the wheel and stuff over that it wasn't in the way in the slightest bit :)

I've got a truck, so hauling a grill to the beach isn't a problem... And I'm not going to the beach without skis... That's a shooting offense over here.

3 months of a riding season if you're lucky. They go to the sand every time I do : lol:

we ride pretty much every weekend, i would say 3 out of 4 weekends year round, but we take everything on ski down to an island bout 2 mile ride, then set up, and ride , etc. wetsuits in winter, we take a small grille if friends come on boats

Im so jealous. Weather conditions here are nice mid may to mid sept....4 months....and with life keeping me busy ive been out 4 times.

I think we were out 7 times this year. Probably wont get a chance to get back out but once more maybe next week.

Might buy some wet suits and try to extend the season a few weeks, but with the kid in school now it gets a lot harder.

Ha! I was going to say the same thing. Around here the season is about the same. If I lived in Florida I would find a way to commute to work on my ski.
