Has this ever happened to you? Big black stain!
I bougt my jetski about 6 weeks ago. Being a safety conscious person I wanted the right safety equipment for riding the ski. Consulted the experts at a local ski shop where the original owner bought the ski when it was new. I asked a heaps of questions re: safety and was told to get good quality ski pants. Jetpilot crown jewels pants were recommended. I bought the shorts, as I wanted to ride the next day. All good so far.
After an hour riding I got back to the ramp and my mrs said "what's that on the seat"? A big black stain!
Turns out the dye from the new shorts had run and went onto the seat. Got it home, washed seat nothing would get the black off the seat. Contacted the store were I got pants from. Told them, even took the jetski there on trailer to show them. Eventually jetpilot was contacted. They said they never seen this happen before.
After a few weeks Jetpilot was good enough to replace the whole seat with a new one in exchange for old one. They said if I wash the shorts it shodnt happen again. They never replaced the shorts. Well I have washed shorts twice now, and I took their word for it that it wouldn't happen again. It was also recommended to me, to use a leather water repelent / cleaner on the new seat. This was also done before using it.
Today first ride with new seat. Guess what, it's happened again! Not as bad as before but there is another black mark on the seat that won't wash or scrub off.
I can't believe jetpilot are saying this has never happened before. If my shorts are faulty, there would have been thousands made at the same time using the same dye as mine. Sorry for the long winded post. Had to explain the situation Also I was told that it would be safe to use the shorts after washing (no tag on shorts to say wash before use)
Jetpilot have admitted fault as they replaced the seat to begin with. If they didn't think the shorts were the cause they would not have done that.
