Ok so i took the XP out yesterday sine the GSX still at shop..

Launched her in water, drove to dock and tied it off. went and pulled the blazer and trailker out, shut everything up and got ready to ride, when a guy pulled up with a sprtster he just bought, so i got to bs'in with him for 19 mins or so, then went on my marry way to go play..walked down dock, sat on my ski and she sank ass end almost over seat in water...im like WTF oh sh** shes sinking, i yelled for help, the guy helped me pull it around the dock to ramp and we drug it out of water.(thanks Jim!! i believe he just joined the forum also)... the plug was missing...felll out somewhere i guess or something, took seat off and water was over the block!!! im liker oh no..

so i ran to walmart real fast grabbed spare plug, got it in it, pulled the pulugs turned it over to clear out the cylinders that were now water filled, finally 3 sets plugs later, 4 beers, 1 jump pack battery, and few new words later i got it started and back in the water to ride...

so all newbies to watercraft who are not used to checking the plug CHECK IT!!!! my ski was les than 5 mins from sitting in 10' of water =):ack::rofl::cheers:

I've seen so many boat owners put their boat in the water and never check the drain plug, only to pull it back out to put the plug in before it sinks...That's the first thing I check on my boats, and I have never sunk one yet. Good habits make for a lot more fun on the water...How many people unplug the electrical plug before making the plunge at the launch? The electrolysis from the water to the 12 volts corrodes everything faster and pops hot light bulbs too...

i remeber to unplug my trailer every time lol, think id remember
NOT to sink the ski lol....it was bad when you see the block under water, ski cant hold much more before she goin down to davy jone's locker lol

It's just a technicality...why worry about a $1.50 drain plug...I keep 2 extras near my boat lift for security...it seems to ruin your whole day if you loose one, don't have a replacement, so rumor tells me.
