im having a problem with my 2000 gtx not restarting while riding... it starts fine from trailer but after riding or if you let idle it shuts off and is flooded basicly.... either have to wait or pull plugs and crank out fuel.... i just bought it recently and it was not run at all last year... i did drain all gas and have run about 1/2 tank of premium gas in it... and suggestions??? thanks

fuel flow/sticky injectors

G'day do you have the GTX RFI ( fuel injected ) ski there? Milleninum edition?
It could be a fuel pressure problem... if it isn't getting the correct fuel pressure it will cause inorrect fuel flow... OR you could have sticky fuel injectors not allowing the correct amount of fuel through...try pulling out the injectors and get them 'Flow Tested' ... and cleaned... then go from there.
Let us know how you went...if you need help with pulling the injectors just ask. If it hasn't been running for a year it's a probability... don't use fuel injector cleaner... i found that being a waste of money.. and its not hard to pull out the injectors and get them tested/cleaned.

yes it is fuel injected.... intially it starts fine and seems to run good... rpms 6700 area i think... its only when you shut off and try to refire.... if you let it sit for a few minutes it will start up..... or pull plugs abnd blow out .. then it will fire

It almost seems like it is still pumping fuel after you shut it off...than it has flooded the plugs on a quick return re-start. I'll do some research on the problem...

Fuel problems...

G'day..i'd be doing a fuel pressure test first to eliminate that problem... dribbling fuel injectors also give the symptoms you describe.. they don't seal properly on shutting and dribble fuel into the cylinder/s causing the engine to accept too much fuel on start up.. thus making it hard to start. Are your spark plugs new? Weak plug spark can also be a factor in restarting a warm engine. Eliminate the small/easy fix problems first... let us know how you went.

well fueling system seems to be ijn order.... after tearing the rest of my hair out.. i come to see it had wrong plugs in it... (BR6es) which is not what it called for..... i got the correct plugs and they are alot longer and 4's instead of 6's which may make the diffference... spark closer to cylinder and more of it may do the trick.. going to try it tomorrow and find out... thanks
