GTX 155 vs GTI 130?

I'm lpoking at both skis, and can get a good deal on both. I'm leaning towards the GTX based on the additional bells and whistles, but I'm concerned about the S3 hull. My understanding is it's more stable, so you can't spin it like you can the GTI hull (which I enjoy doing). My question is the S3 hull too stable (i.e. can I not spin it at all)? Also, I believe the GTX is ~80 lbs heavier than the GTI. Is that noticeable given the 25 additional HP?

I'd like to go with the GTX, but don't want to sacrifice the agility/fun factor of the GTI.

more horse power the better................ you cant make those skis go faster but you don't always have to use all your pony's .... just my opinion

You will find VERY little difference in performance in regards to the engines ability between them. And, you really can not modify either in regards to gaining performance. It is VERY expensive to mod either to the point you can feel a difference. Like 2 grand is a starting point.

Yes, the GTX is a great ride. It is probably the most comfortable ski Seadoo has. As such, it is designed to ride well and you will lose some ability to "play" for lack of better terms.

So, if playing and sliding is important, get the GTI.

The GTX is a great ski, but the 155 and the S3 hull do limit its playing ability.

I own a 155 GTX and a 255 RXT-X. Night and day difference. But can't beat the GTX for comfort and ride.

I never rode a GTX so cant compare the two, but i own a 2015 GTI 130 and is plenty fun doing spins and carving while pretty good on choppy water while cruising. it is comfortable enough for me (seat is fairly plush)
you can also consider the GTI 155 SE, 155 limited or GTR 215 SC which has the same hull as the GTI.

What is the difference in the motors that accounts for the 25HP difference? Do they purposely de-tune the GTI as they look like the same motor.

Everything I have read is that it is just the ECU/MPEM. I have not seen the cam mentioned. Could be though,,,

Appreciate the feedback. I'm upgrading from a pair of GTS 130s (GTI with no IBR) and really enjoy their agility when I want to spin/etc. We primarily ride in rivers that don't get too choppy, so the S3 hull won't help me too much. I can get the GTI 130s for $19.5K with new trailer and boarding step add on, or the GTX 155s for $22.6K. Since the GTXs have a $12.4K MSRP I'm thinking they may be a better bang for my buck. However, if I can't have as much fun on it I suppose the deal doesn't matter.

130 and 155 do have different cams in addition to ECU. Very little difference, as mentioned above, in performance. 130 will do about 57, 155 will do 60 and will accelerate just a little bit harder. Most people don't notice the difference even riding one right after another. If you like the extra bells and whistles the gtx limited is nice but if you focusing mainly on riding, the gti SE 130 can't be beat as far as price and performance and just enough options, imo.

Get the gtx the more bells and whistles you can get now the less you will spend later. I have a gti and if I could do it again I would go GTX just my 2 cents

there is NO DOUBT that the T3 Hull (which I have only seen on rxpx, does it come on other models now?) is much more agile, turns hard and fast, 180's, jump your own wake, etc.... I ride with a buddy that has the 2012 or 2013 (I forget) T3 and I swear he whips it around like an oversized X4. 260hp and a 26 year old on that hull = lots of fun.
