Hi all,

i am looking for some advice again. I am in Indonesia and have been asked to look at another Seadoo that was not operating. Had been sitting for about six months after they could not get it started. Hard to get exact answer what happened so started from scratch.

BTW the engine is a normally aspirated 4Tec, 130HP, 2011 with 240 hrs on the clock

Ok, this is what I have found so far.

Carbon seal ring is shot, reportedly they had to clean out sand and seawater from inside hull after every use. Visible evidence of excessive salt water corrosion on engine especially spark plug sockets ( seal boots leaking)
Oil filter NEVER been replaced.
No compression on #3 cylinder
Only two injectors firing
Start button not working
Six fault codes showing
No throttle response

Despite all this managed to get running at least by borrowing some parts from another unit.

My first question is what is the normal failure in the engine to cause lost compression? Valves or piston/ring failure?

I also have the following fault codes showing.

P060D
P0222
P0107
P0122
P1106
P1502

Most of these point to the TAS being inoperative, makes sense as there is no throttle sense and the actuator butterfly is moving freely (ie) not jammed or sticky.

I do not have access to BUDS here so diagnosis is a bit hit and miss.

Any advice appreciated.

Cheers, Mick
