Im buying my first pwc next week and still can't decide what to get. Its between the GTR 215 and the RXT 260. Is it worth it to spend the extra cash to get the 260? I heard that the motors all have governors on them that only let them top out at 70 mph. If thats true than the only performance benefit I would get out of the 260 would be acceleration correct? Any opinions are appreciated.

Welcome to the forum. I don't know much about the newer 4-stroke machines. Does the 260 have the super-charger? I know that there have been some concerns about those and they have to be serviced. I do think that by law the machines are not supposed to go over 70. Search the 4-stroke PWC section for more info or post questions there.

I was in the same dilemma for the past month. I went with the RXT 260 though. I am taking my third ride in it today. The best bang for your buck is to go with the GTR 215. $10,900 msrp and you are in a musclecraft. I opted to go up to $12,900 and get the RXT 260 rather than going to $14,000 or more for the RXP-X and RXT-X. There is NO noticable speed difference between my machiine and the two upper models, so I drew the line at the RXT 260. Best of BOTH worlds. I'm sure the 215 does not have the power of my 260, but it's also not too far behind. Maybe 10mph?? I DOO like the fact that the 215 is naturally aspirated though!! No supercharger tune-ups etc. I would imagine you will save a LITTLE money in the long run though. IT DEPENDS WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR! Speed, money, maintenance, insurance etc?
