We have a 2024 GTI SE 170 that has started in reverse since we got it (has about 9hrs). We press start to cycle the controls. The display says “press mode to override the IBR.” It doesn’t matter if we press mode or not it always goes in reverse. We place the key in to start it & when we start it it will flash neutral then immediately go in reverse. No handle bars are touched, it just immediately goes in reverse. It is then challenging to get it in neutral by depressing the left lever. Once in neutral the throttle will engage forward. If the display doesn’t reset, it will start in forward; however, once the display is off & we start it, it always goes in reverse (it is like it is a system default). After reading the manual it sounds like this isn’t by design & the seadoo should start in neutral & stay in neutral until you tap the throttle to put it in forward. Any easy troubleshooting advice before we have to take it to the dealer?
