Was finally time to de-winterize both my ski’s today (did oil change and fogged the cylinders in the fall).
I fired them up and let each one run with the hose for a minute or so to let the fogging oil burn off before swapping the plugs.
When I pulled the plugs, I noticed (and was reminded) that all 6 plugs had some oil on their threads. When I fogged the cylinders last year the oil was already there, so it’s not fogging oil.
Has anyone else had this happen? Or any ideas? There were no performance issues with the skis last year, and no faults.
When I did the oil change last year I was able to get 4L out of each ski, instead of the 3.5L the manual says, and I came to the conclusion the dealer had over filled them when they were new.
Wondering if the extra pressure caused by the extra oil could have forced its way into the combustion chamber? Or is is likely an O ring or valve cover gasket? There is no visible oil in the plug tube.
