A week ago I took my 1996 GSX out for a spin on the lake and after riding it for about 20 min. it started losing RPMs. I thought it may be a fuel problem so I replaced the fuel and oil filters and once again took it out today and same problem. It ran fine at first and then just started losing RPMs a little at a time. I think it may be more of an electrical problem since its only happening after getting warmed up, any suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
Greg

GG, check the small internal filters inside the carbs. Also, gray fuel lines = goopy crap everywhere. Change if you haven't yet to black fuel lines from auto stores.

I'll try that next.

I'll see if I can get to them by today and let you know how they look, but it seems like maybe something is breaking down electrically b/c it only does it once its completely warmed up, also should let you know the key used to beep once I inserted it on the bess post, and now it does not.

I replaced lines and had carbs rebuilt same problem

Any other ideas. The mechanic said it sounded electrical to him, but he would have to run it on diagnostic machine. Any ideas before I spend more money?

disconnect the red wire from rectifier. If that fixes it, replace rectifier. Do compression check, before the rectifier thing. If psi above 100ea cylinder, than remove the wire..
