Klein's!.....

I use the same cutters but by Klein. They are linemans cutters. About $25 dollars a pair and last a life time (no, I didn't buy them, my company did...LOL)..but ..........?

Why are you cutting them. These are crimp clamps. All you have to do is wedge a small point into the side at the hole then work it from side to side a bit. The crimp just opens up. Then, if you like, you can re-use it. Of course, me and most I know, get rid of them...........

I usually never cut the clamp off... I just shoot some PB Blaster on them and the fuel line just slips off for reuse again. I do have the special pliers to remove them and install new clamps again. Having the correct tools for the job is priceless. I am a certified Technician and was taught this in tech school.

how about instead of replaceing the entire fuel system, you simply check/replace the fuel filters for christ's sake. you people kill me.
Well, Mr. revereamg, there are 3 or 2 things you don't understand. When I got mine, back in the summer, it ran great, then, it would not take more than 1/2 throttle. Then, it would barely plane. I limped back to the truck/launch area.

I then posted my first post. They all said REPLACE THE GRAY FUEL LINES.

I was skeptical. I thought about it for several days. Then, I went and looked at the ends of the gray lines, beside the clamps. There was a green glue goop there. The advice from this forum was 100% right. Those gray lines were disintegrating into the fuel, and clogging every filter in the system. I took the gray hoses off, cleaned out all the filters, and the carburetor. Now, she runs fine. I still have the gray fuel lines, hanging out in the yard. Would you like some digital pics of the GLUE that they produce, as they disintegrate?

So, I know 2 things. There are skeptics about the gray hoses. And there are converts. And the convert's skis run better than the skeptics. Unless you clean the filters REAL REGULAR, and disassemble the carb (s) and clean those out too. And, I don't have time for that. Well worth the price and time to put good new fuel lines in it.

Also, a LEAN 2 stroke motor is not a HAPPY 2 stroke motor. There are OTHER bad things that will come with a lean condition. Like OVERHEATING, and scorched cylinder walls. And shortened engine life.

Take your pick. I like nice clean fuel lines, that do NOT disintegrate.

Respectfully, and Cheerfully

It seems like the first post was about a good set of pliers to cut off the clamps. Yes, he did refer to the gray fuel lines in the tittle because there has always been a problem with the gray fuel lines. I think your sarcasm is out of order and A little bit offensive to the member. This forum is about helping out members, not swearing at them in a verbal abusive fashion. If you don't have anything of value to contribute to help other members...then don't! This forum won't put up with this type of negativity from any member.
