Girl looses leg in Jet Ski accident!!

We had a similar accident happen here at Herrington Lake last year. A 12yr. old girl was run over by a drunk in a boat, she lost a leg also.

She was out on a ski after dark no lights, what were her parents thinking???? Very sad.

This is actually a friend of a friend that this happened to Brad. We were talking about it yesterday. Very sad indeed. Not sure what type of training and or experience the riders had..

Just on Sunday, we lost a guy on our lake. Still haven't found him. He was riding a pwc without a life vest, had a young child with him with a vest. They found the kid floating and alive and unharmed, but have yet to find the adult driver.

So, yes, it can be dangerous out there if you don't have your wits about you.

damn really did they find his jet ski or what?

I guess that's why they made the safety class mandatory in PA.

But, that sux. Something she will have to deal with for the rest of her life.

Not sure of the full details, but it sounds like he just fell off, and couldn't swim???? Doesn't sound like he hit anything. Details are sketchy.

They were on a red and white jet ski, and the man apparently fell off. The 10-year-old said he tried to help him, tried to pull him up by his shirt, but the man was too heavy to lift back onto the jet ski. That’s when he fell back, went under water and did not resurface.”
Cannon said witnesses told police the victim did not know how to swim and was not wearing a life jacket. Witnesses also stated to officials, Cannon said, that the victim may have been drinking alcohol at the party.

Sounds like the adult just passed out, to me...

That truly does suck. I hope the best for those involved.

I do wonder sometimes tho, why there's YOUNG teenagers running around on 800CC machines..?
