If it does what you need in spades, figure on replacing the engines and rebuilding the jet pumps if you keep it long enough. I like the small boats b/c they're easy to deal with and I don't have a crew of 8.

I have been thinking about the same thing. I have a 96 speedster with twin 720 and love the boat. I have wanted a bigger boat like yours (18') for a while and love the look of the c180's with the 4tec in it. I don't like the initial purchase cost of a used one and don't like the engine cost to replace if needed ($2300-3000) so I think I will stick with the tried and true 2 stroke boats as I can replace an engine for about $1000 with a much lower initial purchase price.

I am getting my 2 - 717's rebuilt now for my Sportster 1800. There are alot of 2-stokes left. A lot of outboards on pontoons and and boat from the 80's-90's have them.

I paid 1800 for the proline hd no fault warranty.

Fullbore is doing the engines. I will install them myself. Installing engine is that hard on a boat more room just upside down some.

Take the engine cover off, there is no need to work upside down on a jet boat.

Going to remove engine cover also. Still have to hand over the seat some when the 2nd engine gets in. Only to mount the cables and stuff like that. I am not that small of a person. 6' 1" 200 lbs. Need ladders also to get in there where I can't stand in the engine bay

Lol, I'm 6-2 230+. I refuse to hang upside down. I use the boarding ladder and work off that or a milk crate
