Getting new impellers.. does it really matter?

I posted pics last season where I toasted my impellers by getting some big ass rocks sucked in (lesson learned)

I'm getting the Speedster ready to take out this year, and was going to go to a local shop and get the impellers ground out. But.. I was looking on Ebay, and there was a brand new impeller on there from a company named Solas. Looks pretty trick.. has anyone tried this? Is there really any increase in acceleration or top end using an aftermarket item like this? Or am I better off just fixing the OEM?

Thanks

Any properly chosen impeller is better than a mangled one. Solas makes good impellers but make sure it matches your application or you may be disappointed in the result.

you will want to keep the pitch #s the same or close to the stock #s I find that solas are a little slicker than stock ones but stainless impellers are finicky when it comes to rocks the whips bend easy but are easy to fix your self. if it were me and it was half the money to fix the oem ones I would just do that. also oem ware rings they are a lot nicer than any of the aftermarket ones

Some impellers give better topend, some give better acceleration, some give better hook up. It matters what you what different from your stock ones which are all around use and use the company charts to pick the proper ones. Some places so swaps also for like 100 for pen ones.

We sell the SOLAS impellers on PWC Muscle.. what model/year Speedster do you have?

This one is near stock pitch.. it is stainless steel though.

I splurged on a new solas performance impeller in my 95 sportster and it made 1000% difference. Mine was original impeller before. I went from bad cavitation with more than 2 ppl in the boat to literally none with 4 ppl in the boat. top speed probably increased 5-7 mph and it planes fast as hell. worth every single penny.
