Hi noob here, have read through a lot if threads and have a couple of Q's:

Bought the boat used with 8 hours in it, previous owner had oil and filter changed and winterized. Should I take it to a dealer to be 'opened up' for the summer? Do I need to replace the spark plugs? I will probably have a valve installed in case I ever need to be towed (instead of pincher) and am clear on the water, engine, engine water sequence as well as never jumping with a running vehicle. Should I take the battery out sand plug in a tender? I don't mind paying a dealership for the first go around, I just don't want to waste money.

The only thing a dealer will "open up" for the Summer is your wallet. Charge it up with a battery mender and go have fun. The valve you mention is a good idea, and should have been included with the original design. Haven't done mine though....

Much appreciated - going to ignore my paranoia and stealership greed and go with your suggestion
