Getting moisture out of gauges

Both the tach and speedometer on my '96 Challenger are fogged with moisture. I pulled them out and tried the "drilling two holes" trick. It worked a bit, but they fogged up again as soon as I took the boat out. Are there any other methods that have worked for you guys? Right now I have them submerged in rice, but it doesn't seem to be having any impact.

When doing the "2 hole" trick... you need to blow though the gauge with VERY dry air. If you use air from a compressor... it's normally VERY wet. When I do that in my shop... I hook a N2 bottle to them, and slowly purge them. The Nitrogen I get is pure, and VERY dry. If you know someone with welding equipment... any inert gas is OK. (CO2, Argon, etc) DO NOT use O2.

Got it. I was using one of those aerosal cans. I finally carefully took the gauge apart to deal with the moisture. Interestingly, even after a day or so apart, there was still enough moisture in the gauge to fog it up again when I put it back in place. Had to take it back out.
