I was wondering, when I changed out my impeller I had to take off the cone thats is connected to the jet pump. when I did this i lost alot of gear oil. any suggestions for the weight or kind of gear oil I should use?

High performance.....

First, what color was the oil. Was it a nice color oil, the way oil looks? Or was it a milky looking color? If so, then you may have bad seals. If the oil looks good, then put the cone back on and use the little allen head plug to add the synthetic gear lube. If you can't get it, go to Wal Mart and look for the High Performance brand of QuickSilver gear oil.

The oil requirements of the bearings for the impeller is a 75-90wt. synthetic gear oil. Because I live about 2 hours away from the nearest Seadoo dealer, this is the brand I use. Make sure it's not the standard gear oil. It needs to be the "High Performance" brand due to the high rpm of the Rotax engine.
