Picked up 4 gauges for a 97 Xp how can I check that they work before I install

If you can easily access the plugs I'd just plug them and start the ski. You can download a manual and look at the wiring diagram and apply 12 volts to the wires but that will only let you know if the gauge is powering up. Do what is convenient. "Don't cross the streams."
