Gas Tank Crush

In my 1996 Challanger I noticed while cleaning her up on a cold day this weekend the fuel tank was crushed in about 3 inches at the top. It looks like the engine has been sucking gas but the tank is not venting. I took the fuel vent cap from the hull and it appears clean. Is their a valve at the other end of the hose at the tank that might not be releasing? Removing the gas cap had no effect. Could the cold weather effect the gas and tank? It was not like this when I parked her last weekend on a warm day. Or is this a vent issue?
Thanks Guys!

I would check the vent tube in the gas tank. Follow the tubes from the baffle unit in the fuel tank and check the vent in the end of the line. It might be plugged. If it is plugged it will hamper the performance of the engine too as the fuel can't vent properly. If you need any more help give us a shout.
